Off the bike

Fantastic birding, fly and bait fishing (yellowfish, barbel, carp, eel), cycad walks, rock art, game viewing, 4x4, etc. Please check out our websites for more info about maps, accommodation etc.

HOW TO GET THERE

Entering Cathcart from Queenstown on the N6, turn left at the 4-way stop street into Main Rd (right if coming from East London). At the Ferndale sign board (1st stop street / First National Bank), turn left. Travel 2km out of town. Turn right at the Sheard Auctioneers/Ferndale sign. Travel for 23km down into Henderson valley. Turn right at the Ferndale Campsite and 4x4 sign (at the hangar & windsock) and follow the road for 1km to the campsite on Thomas River at the base of the krans (cliff). From Stutterheim over the top of Fort Cunnyngham turn right at Toise/Henderson sign (14km), straight over 4 way stop at top of hill, left at T junction at bottom of hill, across the river, second turn left. About 40km in all. At the moment the TOISE ROAD IS BAD so the recommended route is the next turnoff about 7.5 km past Toise, turn right past Reid's House and left at the 4 way stop.
