OVERVIEW

The mountain bike park is situated just outside Port Elizabeth, and is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. They cater for all levels of riders, and have also made provision for non-riders with there walking trails and coffee shop (coming December 2012) as well as a play area and jungle gym for children.

 

 

On your bike

The park have 5 different trails to choose depending on your fitness level and expertise.

Blue Route: The blue route have three lenghts to choose from: A 1.5km. 4.5km and a 1.km route and all these route are rated as beginner. Time of riding between 10 - 30  mins.

Red Route: The red route is 8km long and takes about and hour to complete. For the intermediate riders.

Black Route: The black route is 8km long and takes about and hour to complete. For the expert riders. There is also a down hill track that will be opened in the summer of 2012.

 

 

Off the bike

The coffee shop at the Bike Park (opening December 2012) is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors or sip on something cool after a ride. They also have bicycles for hire, for those that don't have their own. There are also a jungle gym and trampoline for the children.

Trail Walks for Non-riders - From Monday to Thursday (booking necessary, and excluding public holidays). Remember your camera and back-pack. You are in for an unforgettable journey in the bush! Take your time admiring the beautiful indigenous trees, birds and other wild animals!

Port Elizabeth has it all. Golden beaches for surfing, slouching or real excitement as the Sardine Run
comes past in June/July accompanied by whales, dolphins and sharks. Exceptional hiking trails (Alexandria or Sacramento), horseback outrides, Big 7 viewing, amazing 4X4 venues, and even elephant-back safaris in Addo … come and do it all!

HOW TO GET THERE

Situated between Jeffreys Bay and Port Elizabeth lies JBay Bike Park. Just 20 mins from Jeffreys Bay and 30 mins from PE. Take exit 702 off the N2 (signposted Hankey) onto the R102 towards Humansdorp and continue on this route for 2.6km. Left turnoff to the Park entrance.

The weather here is as friendly as the city. Come all year round. This Friendly City is rated as having one of the most temperate climates in Africa! Trails closed during wet weather.
