  [ OVERVIEW ]

A rewarding ride follows the horse trail to the overnight hut (26km return) or there is the 28km return route to Prinspoort.

On your bike

Anysberg Nature Reserve nestles deep within the wild and remote heart of the Little Karoo. More than 63,000 ha of wide-sky space is home to striking mountain scenery interspersed with rugged mountain gorges. An abundance of flora, from succulents and spiky renosterveld to hardy protea, proliferates within the arid environs. There are good gravel roads and singletrack trails throughout the Reserve and mountain bikers will be spoilt for choice. A rewarding ride follows the horse trail to the overnight hut (26 km return) or there is the 28 km return route to Prinspoort, the impressive gorge through the Anysberg mountain. Winter and summer temperatures are extreme, so pack water, sun block and a warm shell.

Off your bike

Super day hikes and an overnight poly trail criss-cross Anysberg Nature Reserve with many interesting archaeological and San rock art sites to visit along the way. A diverse range of fauna, including gemsbok, red hartebeest, Cape mountain zebra and springbok, makes for good game-viewing. Elusive leopards still roam the harsh and remote kloofs, but are rarely seen.
