ROUTE NAME - Jonkershoek / Assegaaibosch Reserve MTB Trail] |
On your bike
Crank into cloud country on a ride traversing the slopes of the incredible Jonkershoek mountain. There are two trail options of 15 km or 30 km to choose from and both start at the entrance gate. From here, the route follows a gravel road winding its way past the indigenous flower garden before climbing up through shady plantations towards Twin peaks. Look out for bicycle tracks or hook up with local riders if you can as the trail is not marked. Otherwise, explore the network of singletrack and jeep track contouring in loops around the basin slopes. After a few stiff climbs, bang down onto the Eerste River and cruise past Kleinplaas Dam on your way back to the starting point at the gate.
