On your bike
Sungubala Mountain Bush Camp is a comfortably rustic bush camp in the foothills of the northern Drakensberg. MTB Trails include a 35 km Classic route on singletrack and jeep track and a variety of intense, technical singletrack. Sungubala will also facilitate dirt road rides that take you further afield, down through the flat fields below, up past Montusi resort and then around on the Old Nook farm road past Drifters, another resort. Finish by going down through the grounds of Alpine Heath resort and back through the fields on the opposite side.
Off your bike
Marked hiking trails can also be supplemented with a guide. There’s river swimming, access to horse-riding, trout fishing, abseiling, trapezing, bungee bounce, paintball and a 150-m zip line or foefie slide.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Guests only - Access to and from the camp is a two kilometre stretch of 4x4 track and guests without their own 4x4 vehicles are transported, on arrival and departure, at no extra cost. Enthusiasts can leave their luggage to Sungubala and ride to and from the camp.
FACILITIES: Thatched safari tents for 18 guests. Serviced A-frame huts with linen provided. Communal ablution and boma facilities. Hot and cold water. Fully equipped kitchen and braai facilities. Riding is all on private properties so security is generally good
