[ OVERVIEW ]
On your bike
Moletadikgwa (pronounced Mo-let-a-deeg-wa), in the heart of the Waterberg, is at an altitude of 1,400 m. This wildlife sanctuary has 420 ha of woodland, savanna, plains and krantzes – fascinating rock features being a characteristic of the geology here. Make up your own combination of rides through scenic, deciduous bushveld with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside; you can even see mountain ranges 90 km distant. There are numerous tracks with alternating surfaces of hardpack and loose sand that are ideal for mountain-biking. The peaceful surroundings are conducive to bird- and game-viewing, and both these activities can be done on a bicycle. There are about 150 animals on the property, including giraffe, kudu, impala, wildebeest, red hartebeest, zebra, waterbuck, warthog, bushpig, mountain reedbuck, baboon and other monkeys, so sightings are generally very good.
Off your bike
Well-marked walking trails will delight active guests who are also free to ramble anywhere in the veld. Horse-riding is available on a neighbouring game reserve.
