On your Bike

Enjoy a relaxing time on a real highveld escarpment farm and fill your lungs with fresh air! Machado Stud Farm gives you ample space to explore the more than 807 ha of farmland and hilly countryside with a mixture of forest, grassland and marshland environments. Cross country events have been arranged in SAPPI’s Helvetia plantation adjacent to the farm so offroad cycling opportunities abound.

Off your Bike

For anglers, there's trout fishing in 18 different spots and rods and equipment available for hire. for birdwatchers, there are more than 190 species to be spotted. Children will be fascinated by the dairy process and can enjoy some fresh farm milk afterwards!

Four fully equipped and serviced luxury self-catering cottages. Braai facilities with wood and charcoal for the fireplace and the braai. Seven weirs and eleven dams are stocked with trout for fly-fisherman.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Private property. Guests only. No access allowed without prior booking and check-in procedure at the Stud Farm’s reception. Special permission must be obtained to cycle in the SAPPI plantations
