[ OVERVIEW ]

On your bike

The extremely rugged Berakah MTB trail is one of several in the Dome Bergland, all of which are worthy of trying if you are the adventurous type. Distances vary with choice of route. Berakah and Morala are separate properties with interconnected trails, near the main Potch tarred road but deep in mountain kloofs. Boplaas is a farm on top of the Bergland with paths connecting to some lower routes.

The Berakah trail has been used for MTB races but is generally fine for intermediate riders. Berakah is a famous 4x4 and quad bike route with some paths suiting mainly mountain bikes. Steep, rock-strewn tracks alternate with jeep tracks and in the lowlands there are dongas and scary log bridges. Not for the faint-hearted, this trail offers a bit of danger and a lot of sweat but persistence will earn you fantastic views of the rocky hill country of the Vredefort crater rim.
