OVERVIEW

This technical ride along mostly reasonable surface starts and finishes at the Veldskoen Farm Stall.

On your bike

Follow the Mountain View Lodge Road along a climb to the ridge and then dip down a pathway towards the 1875 railway line. Continue along a rugged crank down the railway line, pedalling to the old railway tunnel.
Pass through the tunnel and continue until you reach Tunnel Station and then on to Matroosberg Station. Loop around Tafelberg and back to the tunnel via a circular road, mostly along reasonable surface.

From the Tunnel Station, the trail now goes via Kranskloof towards Scoobie Doo and then on to Osplaas before returning to Veldskoen Farm Stall.

Off the bike

The area is rich in fossils and the skies are alive with raptors and other birds. Surrounded by vineyards, snow-capped peaks and sparkling dams, De Doorns exudes a timeless charm.
